Hi! I was sent to this thread by a hatch-a-long buddy, because one of my Easter Eggers that hatched today has giant feet. Ordinary chick is on the left. Chick with huge feet is on the right. Both EEs. Since EE is not a 'breed,' I'm guessing there is wide variation in characteristics and appearance, yes? Is this a normal variance? Or does the chick on the right have swollen feet?

To me they look swollen. Are the hocks swollen too?

That said, I don't know the cause - it could be fluid that will go down once the chick is "up and running" or it could be something else.

Hopefully someone else will take a look. Keep us posted.

Thank you for taking a look. The next day, the feet don't look fat and puffy anymore. Still big feet, but sleek. They must have been swollen, and they did go down. You were so right!
