Do these look ok/appropriate for Day 11? They’re on track weight-wise, I just have anxiety since it’s my first hatch.

Um just my two cents. Were you the one that had chickens that were vaccinated for mareks die of mareks? If so, and for anyone who has had vaccinated chickens against a disease that they later died from, isn't that a bit suspicious? Don't you think it's possible the vaccine itself had the mareks disease in it?

I was going to put my NN with the chicks that are a couple days old. She is dryer than in the pics. When I set her in with the other chickens she looked at me, eyebrows up, like she was not ready. I put her back in the incubator.

I'm failing at updating because work and life have been craaaazy! However, I candled on Day 7 and found 9 for sure good and 2 possible. I candled again yesterday (day 10? I really ought to get Hatchkeeper) and confirmed 2 clear, which I removed. I also found one that might have had the start of a blood ring but also might just have had strange shadows, so I'll candle again tonight or tomorrow night to be sure.

The other 10 are wild and crazy in their shells! Lots of movement, lots of obvious development. I'm especially excited because so far it looks like I may have a good mix from all four hens whose eggs I set. Now let's keep our fingers crossed for a decent ratio of boys to girls. Last summer I got 4 chicks and hatched 2 eggs, and ended up with 4 cockerels to show for it. Argh!

Yes it was! So thankful one made it! Now if only it would be a girl! Lololol. They are autosexing so hopefully I can figure that out soon.

So far day 20 and we have 21 hatched. This is madness I wasn't expecting them to hatch so early. The others have all pipped all but a few so they have plenty of time. I have a mix of standard and bantams but y'all I swear these are the tiniest chicks I've ever had. For reference that bottle is a peppermint essential oil bottle.

The second one looks a lot like how mine did day 11. The first pic is harder to tell because it’s all dark at the top but since there is veins that’s good.
