There are feeds with marigold extract in it. For veggies to treat them now and then kale would also promote orange yolk. Then there is straight forward pasture. Using electric poultry fence you can change up their forage area every two or three weeks as it gets depleted of dandilion greens and bugs.

Birds go broody or not. Climate is the main factor in a hen going broody. Here in North America we are in the season where breeding hormones are high and your best chance of a broody girl. A large clutch of eggs triggers something in their hardwiring too.

Some breeds/individual birds are broody prone and others not. It's nothing you can count on unless they are your birds with proven track record.
