ing Right now they seem to eat day and night as they are little. Will they also eat at night when older? I ask because I'd like to have them eat forage during the day and then provide them their bulk grain at night. Determined to keep them a bit more active to prevent problems. We are not doing tractors at this time, we are doing a coop with movable electric fence...just trying this out right now to see what works best.

Stick to the normal feeding routine 7-8am in the mornings and 4-5 pm in the afternoons.

have them graze, roam round, or you can designate a "free range day" once a week wherein the birds could just eat once and just let them graze around for the rest of the day if you wanted to avoid such problems.

feeding them at night will just cause more problems. the birds have the tendency to overeat but depending on the breed. the feed will just spoil and will cause problems for the birds. rats and other night animals who want some leftovers or spillovers from your birds.

feed them grain during the free range day and make sure some electrolytes alternate with clean water.

what breed you have right now?
