We live on a large ranch, where the horses all live on pasture unless they are being used or are sick. The pasture she grew up in is almost 1000 acres. She's a Quarter Horse.
Makes sense then if she's not been handled much. I trim, and see a lot of feet that are a direct detriment to the horse... and on babies you're affecting growing joints as well... which is why I was concerned.
I have a mare who's front legs are crooked- her knee joints don't line up at all- likely because her feet were let go too long as a baby... she has all sorts of front leg issues because of it.
Good luck getting her more used to 'scary human stuff'!
