Well the baby hens are 16 weeks old and the rescued rooster is 20 weeks old. Here's some new pics.

first egg was a double yolker that got conked out of my hand by an excited dog! He enjoyed it!

We have 12 pullets 11 are 18 weeks and 1 17 week banty.

Yes, I have lots of "help" too! Including two turkeys who follow me around trilling at me in hopes I'll toss them a cherry tomato. At least the garden flock has completely eliminated the japanese beetle and squash bug issue I was having.

Sigh. Well I was attacked by my first roo today. Something hit me in the calves from behind and I turned, expecting that one of the chickens had accidentally run into me, but there was Cab Calloway, my white silkie roo looking altogether too pleased with himself. So I chased him around and kicked his fluffy little butt.

Everyone is allowed a "mistake" but if they don't learn from them...aggressive roos do not get rehomed and are not put up with here. :/
