First time chicken owner, new to this group

[Garden Engineer]

I got my first chicks in mid-March, 2023. I have four chickens: two Australorps and two Barred Rocks. To be honest, I wanted to get chickens for their droppings: it makes excellent compost for my plants! The eggs are a total bonus!
I also enjoy various fiber related crafts: spinning, knitting, crocheting. And, of course, gardening. I currently teach engineering at university.
