How different is it from chicken eggs? I know the time is a week longer. but is it the same lockdown three days before hatch date?
totally excited.

Yes. 28 days, lockdown on day 25. Higher humidity during incubation, and even higher during lockdown. Also, duck eggs should be kept on their sides for the whole thing, during turning and in lockdown. (some folks incubate and hatch chicken eggs upright.)

I had a guy giving me turkey eggs to hatch out for him and incubated them like I would chickens (except they take longer of course) and low and behold when they started to hatch they weren't turkeys at all but DUCKS! I didn't do a single thing differently, but of course that could have been my own situation (it happened twice!).
