I have a sneaky suspicion but wanted to see what others think.

I've already got a rooster that I'm sure came from the seventh circle of hell, so I will be finding a home for this one, which is a shame, because the hens seem fond of him.

I'm thinking the same as blaze, why on earth would you keep a mean rooster?

Guilt. I think Birdie was institutionalized (stayed in the small coop too long because I didn't have a bigger one) and therefore he's a little on the "maladjusted" side. But mainly I just feel guilty. Can't stand the thought of killing him. He's coop is 4 x 6 feet, so he's not cramped, but he is Satan's spawn, I'm sure of it.
