I am interested in making my chickens' eggs richer in Omega 3 fatty acids. Do any of Purina's feeds contain flax or other Omega 3 enriching substances? If not, what and how much can I add to my chickens' food to achieve this goal?

Thank you

Purina offers a layer feed, Purina Layena Plus Omega-3, that has higher levels of omega fatty acids in the diet and will, when fed continutously , produce eggs that contain 250 mg of Omega-3 per large egg (56 g). (Levels will vary slightly depending on feeding rate, hen health and management). A standard store bought eggs provides approximately 50 mg of Omega-3 per large egg (USDA National Nutrient Base). You need to feed this feed continuously for 3 weeks to obtain these results.

In order to achieve this level of Omega-3 in your eggs, you would need to continutoulsy feed high levels of a good source of flaxseed. If you fed this as a supplement, the hens may not consume sufficient flaxseed to obtain these results. They key is continuous consumption.
Hope this is helpful.
