Fleas !!!!!!! Help

Hi everyone! I have been keeping chickens for about 9mo now and I have been battling flea for majority of the time . I have tried just about everything i could possibly from natural remedies DE, spraying the yard 2x week with pesticides,to now actually spaying my birds with the pesticides directly on them .nothing seems to work at all. I’m at my wits end and feel extremely bad cause I can’t control the fleas. Ive treated everything in the coop to the ground. You name it I’ve done it . What more can I do? I live in sound Texas and have sandy soil . I don’t have issues with anything other than the fleas . I’ll take pictures tomorrow

Welcome to BYC. Permethrin will kill them. Have you tried that yet?

I have but after watching a few videos maybe I’m not treating long enough?

Not sure fleas are an actual problem for chickens?

According to this, you will need to treat the ground as well as your chickens.

Defiantly do not feel bad about not controlling the fleas! It sounds like you are doing all the right things. I would keep up the treatments and hopefully you will be able to get ahead of them as winter sets in. I know that you don't get super cold in South Texas, but hopefully it will be cold enough
