I just wanted to mention that the difference of getting day olds from a private dedicated breeder and various feed stores is very evident. Grabbed 4 more hens to lighten the load on the first four hens and roo we picked up from a private breeder. 100% sexing from breeder 75% from feed store. Roo from breeder evident at 4-5 wks, bigger, bulkier and prouder and growing into quite the dandy. Roo from feed store we could not be sure until 16 wks. too narrow and thin with one prominent tail feather. Maybe a late bloomer but to my eye not the kind of bird I want mixing with the hens. If I want to add a new breed I will take the 2 hour round drip back to the breeder who has the breeds I like. My suggestion to new chicken folk, check your area for private, quality breeders.
