Daisy at 8 days old. Comb has been the same. I go back and forth on this one. I thought she was my ONLY boy and I was so sure Abigail was a PRETTY girl.
Abigail feathered in very quickly! She was almost completely feathered the 2nd week! Her dirty comb is a little bigger than Penny's. She looks like a girl but is definitely head honcho. She is the longest one.
Penny started growing copper everywhere.,her chest also. I don't mind a mossy girl. She was 2nd to feather in and has an inch tail. She has a very small dirty comb but she stands tall.
Daisy - I have always felt was a boy. The comb, though not big, is clean and shapely. Last to feather in. Tail is 3/4 inch. Primary feather is the same length as coverts. Stares at you straight in the eyes.
I have more pics. Please tell me I have at least 2 girls!
Hello from Nova Scotia Canada, I also have French Black Copper Marans and I have never been able to 100% get them right as to sexing before 3 -4 weeks At best I would say based on the first photo you are right it is a cockerel.
