French Black Copper Marans with white feathers normal?

Hi, I have 4 French Black Copper Maran pullets 6-7 weeks old. They have white feathering in their breast and white feathers in their wings.
Is this normal, and will it go away? These are Cackle Hatchery chicks

Not normal but will go away. I don’t know where it came from but it looks as if f your birds have a single copy of the mottling gene.

I'm very new to this breed but the copper maran that I hatched this summer had white wing feathers and turned out to be a blue copper maran (I thought I was purchasing black) as it grew (sadly we lost him to a raccoon )

The copper feathers on ours took awhile to show then the white faded. Looked like a BCM then became blue

It's not completely abnormal for Birchen, or Extended Black colored chickens to have white in their juvenile plumage. It often molts out, & replaced with solid black feathers.

Interesting- I have multiple hens and a rooster, all of which have been gorgeous. In the last month, the top of one hen’s head looks like she has white/grayish “highlights”, just like someone going gray. The rooster is a most handsome fellow but he now has predominantly white feathers coming out on his copper ruff and his tail. Absolutely nothing in their lives has changed so I’m worried it could be a health problem. They are 3 1/2 years old and well taken care of. Since these guys are pets, I could care less about what they look like, just want to keep them healthy. Since this was sudden, does anyone know a cause?
