Frizzle or Frazzle- what is he?

I got a little (I assume) serama rooster today and after inspecting him, I’m afraid he might be a frazzle.

I don’t think it is, but I’ll probably treat him for them anyway in the quarantine coop. But does he look like a frazzle would?

Frazzles are a chicken with 2 frizzle genes (frizzles are chickens with 1) I’m not sure if he is or isn’t a frizzle.

Well I think its safe to breed a frazzle as long as they don't breed with any frizzles or frazzles.

From my limited knowledge, if he is a frazzle then his feathers will feel super brittle. A regular frizzle feels soft. Hope this helps! I had a frizzle that had a hard time keeping wing feathers, he also could have been getting picked on.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference, I have had a frizzle that looked pretty rough but he produced smooth offspring as well as frizzle so I knew he wasn't a frazzle. Best way to check is test breed him and see if you get any smooth offspring or not
