Just joined the group today, 7/11/12. Buying books, bought 5 different breeds, all the same age, so cute and cuddly. The 2 buff orpingtons are the tamest so far. I turned my dog kennel into a chicken coop! Have lots of questions to ask and will do so soon.
I live in Granite Bay, Calif. (near Sacramento). I have always had animals around, mostly dogs and horses, I live on 3 acres but am surrounded by houses now, its not the country that it used to be when I was a kid here. Altho I am in a zone for animals, the neighbors do complain when I had several roosters cause the kennel is close to the fence where 3 neighbors live behind me in a track housing. So, any roosters I get again will live farther away in separate quarters.
I hope to meet many fine feathered loving friends here! Val
