Not sure where to place this question, but our olive egger who is almost three weeks old now, has some funky toes/claw and like a chunk missing from comb...

Now, I did notice it when we got her that her outside nails were almost non-existent when we brought them home at day olds and are tiny now.

There have been no incidences here. Has anyone else come across something similar?

Will they grow out alright? She's a curious little thing and always wants to be held lol

I'm not worried, more like curious. Thank you

I'm thinking that your cute little girl is actually a little roo!
This happened to us, we hatched chicks, and I sexed them myself, and I was sure that our cute friendly little Daisy was a girl. after a while her feet got way bigger than all the rest and it turned out Dasiy was a roo! male chicks are actually friendlier as babies than females!
I could be wrong and only time will tell!

Shhhh lol and yeah, I keep saying girl and her on the off chance but yeah after several batches of raising, we're pretty sure we ended up with two roos from the stinking pullet bin...

Eta it's also been out experience that the friendlier ones are roos, every time lol and they tend to be the ones who do zoomies more as well

Oye lol this one's comb isn't as big as the other suspect lol (photo added lol)

Might just be a genetic thing or birth defect with the feet, comb might be a missing chunk from injury very early on. I've had a chick that was missing a little lobe of the comb like that, but I couldn't tell you what bird it was at this point.

My husband just reminded me that our Beardie girl was super friendly and always wanting "up" in his hand, so here's hoping! Lol

So... Has anyone had any funky nails/spurs/claws(whatever you want to call it) grow from a chicks toe?

Son noticed it earlier, same chick in this thread. 4weeks olds

Definitely.. and I've seen worse posted on here.. like a whole extra leg growing out of the back end. Maybe a beak or some claws out of the side of a head.. recall isn't exact.. but it's been pretty far out there, what has been witnessed. :hmm
