My 5 chicks ar 5 weeks old. They live in their coop and have no light any more since it's nice in the SF bay area (at least in my yard!). Anyway, every night they have just huddled together in their warm pine shavings EXCEPT FOR LAST NIGHT. They decided to be "big hens" and roost. What a hoot. One jumps on the roost, then another, then the others peep and peep cause they don't know what to do. Then they jump up and knock off the first one who starts peeping... None of them could figure out how to line up in a position they liked. Goodness, what a crazy half hour! On the roost, off the roost, peeping away, jumping on each other. I couldn't stop laughing at my silly chicks!
I wonder when they will figure it out... or if they ever will??
