Galvanized hardware cloth rust proof?

The paint companies we used worked up a system of primer and top coat and a specific preparation. Preparation is a critical part of any paint job. I can't remember if that was a two coat or three coat system. Whatever, the paint system was developed by specialists for a specific purpose. Much more intense than we would do. I'm not going to recommend a specific paint. My expertise was structural steel design and construction, not a paint specialist. Painting it was part of our specs that was in any contract, all I did was reference those. We had a paint specialist in the department that took care of painting. When I asked Ron why he wanted to handle the painting he said it was job security. It's so messy nobody wants to do it.

There have been some paint discussions on the forum but it's been years since I saw one. Others that had worked with if agreed that painting increased its life. But where the topic came up somebody was not happy with the galvanize fence. It was ugly and they had trouble seeing the chickens inside from a distance. If you paint it a dark color, especially black, the fence pretty much disappears. It doesn't glare and you can see through it. As I remember the preferred application method was by roller from those that used it on this forum. Spray wasted more paint but could do a good job of coating it.

For disclosure I did not paint my galvanized fencing. If you don't scratch it the fencing can last a long time.
