I have a hen who keeps extending her neck and gaping. She is still free ranging but it slow and lethargic, I can just walk over and pick her up. Crop feels fine. All other hens are fine too. Ive tried to get her to drink with no luck. Left her sitting fluffed up in the middle of the run :/ have only had my flock for a few weeks so I'm not too sure what to do for her? I live in Western Australia

Gaping can be a sign of adjusting the crop, suffering from hot temperatures, certain worms, and respiratory diseases, especially if there is nasal or eye drainage. Gapeworm is rare, and if she is able to eat and drink, she probably does not have that. Wormout Gel or Levimisole given over several consecutive days and available in Australia, are good for gapeworm. I would put some water into a small amount of feed to try tempting her to get some fluids.
