I can't see the  difference between a barred holland and a cuckoo marans. I looked it up and they look the same to me.

There doesn't seem to be much difference other than the country of origin and the colour of egg that they lay. North Holland Blues lay an off white/cream coloured egg as opposed to the Maran's dark brown egg. In England the Hollands have feathered legs, but they are originally clean legged. So it could be either one.
