We recently rehomed our main Rooster leaving Little Jack our only roo for 3 ladies. My two full sized hen were very attached to our old Roo. They were very upset when he was separated! I wasn't sure how they were going to take to the new change.

One hen just started laying the day our old Roo left.

Not only did Little Jack fluff the nest for her, he also guarded her while she layed her egg. Then later after he went to check on the egg, he found I took it. He was not happy! He was clucking like a hen trying to lay an egg!

I've worried how well he was going to do since he was the youngest chicken and has always been an outcast amongst the flock.

So Little Jack now Gentleman Jack.

I think these are good signs???
