Glass Eggs - Can they kill snakes?

I can't imagine it would kill them...they'd most likely just regurgitate it. It still serves its purpose though, as after swallowing one or two and having to regurgitate them, they'll stop going after your eggs!

Glass eggs work. It's an old school remedy. The snake swallows the egg and finds two close objects to crawl between so that he can break and digest the egg, the same as with any egg. When the glass breaks he perishes from internal injuries.

It would most definately cause impaction in the poor animal... though it may lack the efficacy in the end as snakes primarily go off of smell and heat, so you would be relying on the snake's smelling the nest as a whole, and then bumping into the egg with its nose to trigger the food reflex.

We used to use old light bulbs in the hens' nest. And yes, the snake smells the hen smell on the bulb and swallows it.

Snakes digest what they can, and then regurgitate the undigestable matter. The shape of the light bulb seems to cause them a problem.

We never tried to collect the bulbs back. Dead light bulbs are free; glass eggs cost money.

Definitely, that egg would have to come out the way it came in or the snake's done for.

Yes, it would kill them because they can't digest it. Or it will break inside them they hemorrhage to death.

I've seen people do this with old light bulbs in nest boxes.
