Have any of you heard of or used Google Checkout to buy or sell anything? Just wondering if it is a scam.

Google has their own payment system. You sign up for Google Wallet, then you can pay through it when you see the Google Checkout method.

ANYTHING can be a scam. Just because it looks like a real thing doesn't mean it is. Be cautious! and know for sure where you are putting your financial information.

In my instance it was a Craigslist scam. The seller sent me the Google Checkout information, but in this case payment was to be through Western Union. Before this I had never even heard of Google Checkout, but after a little investigation I determined that Western Union was not used in legitimate Google Checkout transactions. They had the Google logo down pat.

Oh yeah, in many instances... "They" are very good at deception.
