After 3 rounds of different antibiotics and antifungals, Gordy goes to the vet on Wednesday for surgery. Vet thinks he can remove enough of the toe to encourage healing.
This has been a months long process, he does not feel well and I am ready for my big guy to be his old self again. My vet uses a laser so hopefully the surgery will be a success and he will heal quickly and we will have no more issues.
For those that do not know, Gordy is a Giant Schnauzer, so he has hairy feet, this started as a fungal infection, he chewed a toenail off. From there no matter what we tried he kept licking and licking and it has gotten worse.
