Gosling died while zipping

Hi byc! Last night my friends goose egg was hatching, and breathing fine, but the next morning it died randomly. It had a wet spot on the bottom of the egg. It was perfectly fine last night, so what happened? When it died, it was in the zipping process. Please help, I don’t want the future goose eggs to die too. Thanks

after that long, you may want to assist. the humidity sounds a tad bit high, even for hatching.

oh and if it died with a yolk, it may have just been a runt.
