Gosling tumor/belly button is bigger and BLACK! help!

ok, my new gosling has a growth on it's stomach.
I was told that it was probably his belly button. Well...it has gotten bigger and looks black and necrotic.

Here is what it looked like on Sunday:

What should I do? I want to help him...we like him! But I can tell you that my husband probably wont be likely to take a gosling to the vet.....

it looks like it is going black ready to drop off. is your little gossy eating drinking pooping well?
does the area around the stump look red or sore? my little one is nearly 2 weeks old now

he is eating/drinking/pooping/playing. He isn't acting like anything is bothering him. It is bloody around the base, but didn't seem tender or sore.

if its a bit bloody, maybe you could try that dry iodine powder spray, its meant to be very good, that will stop it getting infected. and keep it nice and dry. glad he/she seems well otherwise.

I thought I would let you all know my Gosling seems fine! I guess the stump fell off, and you can't really see anyting. (S)he looks completely normal and is still acting fine!
