GrandCHICKS - lots of pictures of 'lil Silkies!

So apparently the eggs in the incubator worked!
We became proud grandparents of 13 chicks over the weekend!
They are all Silkies hatched from eggs we got from Heavenly Springs Farm in Greencastle, IN.
All strong and healthy!

Oh my, so sweet and such neat colors! It will be fun to see what they grow up to look like. Congrats!

They are supposed to be partrige, but one happened to be totally white, and the rest is kind of chimponky in different shades of grey. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

LOL! Honestly, we didn't have much faith in our eggs. It was our first hatch. We were so doubtful that 3 days before the due day we bought a few chicks at the feed store ... just in case nothing hatches.

Imagine our surprise, when we found 2 chicks in the morning of 20th day of incubation. Another 6 joined by the end of the day and 5 more the next day. We still have 5 eggs left but I don't think they will hatch.

It was still a very succesful hatch! I think.
