Granny's gone and done it again

I had to design a gate for my little herb garden. I thought and schemed, scratched my head and pondered, but nothing came to mind that I could actually do. Hinges? Hardware? Bent nails? Hmmm. Here's what I finally came up with.

McGyvered it. I wrapped the end of the chicken wire around an upside-down T-post with the end broken off. Fastened it with zip ties. Noticed a convenient split in the fence post, a perfect fit for the end of the T-post. Fits perfectly!

My DH is always accusing me of "cheating." This is what he means. I'm rather proud of it, actually!

I made hinges from leather straps. I liked it pretty good but that was wood to wood.

I've got a lot more I took today but somehow they are not where I though they were on the tablet. To tired to hunt them now. It's my bedtime and I sure am ready for it. Early PC doc for both of us in the morning and then we play with the chickens and in the dirt til dark. Two incubators hatching in the middle of all of this. We are getting first chicks from our beloved Honey. And now she is going broody. Look at her side ways and she huffs up ready to fight. Love that broody sound she is making. I've waited so long for a broody girl and finally have one. She has 3 eggs in her nest now. Could have been more but we didn't catch what she was doing and some got ate. :(

Goodnight everyone.
