**GRAPHIC** how old is this embryo?

hi everybody I have a nest in my hen house with two chickens on it and I found a egg that was pushed out of the nest I am not a hundred percent sure on how far along the eggs are so I cracked it open to have a look and this is the picture I have I am guessing it is around 16 or 17 days old. what do you think?

Yeah I'd have to agree with you on 16-17 days. Did you try to candle them first? From the color of the blood and yolk sack I'd say this embryo was either still alive or just recently died. Sometimes hens know when something is wrong with an egg. I
