Grazing Frames

They look like a fairly simple yet ingenious idea. Anyone tried them? Any success? Failures? Thanks in advance.

Probably Rye since it sprouts fast.

Has anyone tried this yet? Planning on putting something together this weekend and try it out.

I am going to build a couple of grazing frames this weekend. My chicken run is already bare over half of it. I am going to plant grains and grass seed on all of the bare spots and then build two or three frames to protect part of it. At this point, I have to keep the birds inside until the seed is firmly established (I'm thinking 2 or 3 weeks) before I let them out..........This is a good solution. Too bad I didn't come across this before the birds went out this spring.
