I have a guinea pig I bought about 6 months ago. I have been putting pine shaving in her cage for bedding. Is there anything better I can use? Is Carfresh good to use? Thanks for any replies

I like carefresh better then the pine, but it gets smushed down so quickly and doesn't last very long. Also we had a 2' by 18" cage and it took an intire package of it to fill it!

I recently found a lavender scented litter from Petsmart, I can't remember who makes it but its made from recycled carboard, it works well and I love the smell, also its easy to just scoop out the messy parts. Its more expensive but it lasts A lot longer! Good luck with you guinea pig.

pine shavings are not very good for them I would recommend yesterdays news http://www.yesterdaysnews.com/ on the half of the cage where they are fed. Where they are fed is where they go to the bathroom. Yesterdays news is very absorbent and keeps smell away for twice as long.
Care fresh is softer so you should put that where they sleep http://carefresh.com/ to make them more comfortable!
Remember that guinea pigs are social animals so it is better to have 2! and they need to be entertained with toys.
http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Cri...JHM8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324568908&sr=8-1 they LOVE THIS!! it makes noises when they run through it!
THey will often make lots of noises chewing on the cage, becuz their teeth need to be filed. http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Perfect-Chews-Guinea/dp/B004GHBZKM/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_24 this is a great alternative!
And one last thing... NEVER put them in a hamster ball! http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Run-About-Exercise-13-Inch/dp/B0002DJCV8 it is extremely bad for their back!!
