So far there isn't much in the media because CFIA didn't hold a news conference and they released the data via a December 12 OIE update released Friday afternoon (classic Friday afternoon dump).

http://www.oie.int/wahis_2/public/w...?page_refer=MapFullEventReport&reportid=16736

Media did cover the spread to the 9th site, but none have noted that the H5N2 is a Fujian H5N8 with 5 genes, including H5 from clade 2.3.4, and 3 genes from a North American wild bird, including N2.

Fujian H5N2 in wild birds in North America is a significant issue for Back Yard Chickens (or any domestic poultry).

H5N2 is highly pathogenic so if its H5N2 mortality should be pretty clear pretty quickly (hours not days).
