Was talking to a coworker who's mother is a chicken lady and swears by it, says it works faster than Corid and you don't have to use as long, she sent me the 'recipe' for it.
3 oz plain bleach
1 1/2 cups sugar
to 1 gallon of water. use for 3 days of this being their only water, followed by water with electrolytes.

Just curious and a bit suspicious.

I know they bleach our community well after we get flooding rains, but it's the amount that worries me. I have not had good luck with Corid, maybe I was catching it too late.
Thanks.

1 oz is six teaspoons so 3 oz is 18 teaspoons. The water purification guidelines suggest 1/16th of a teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water. Ouch!

Yes, I get that, but also that is for purifying water, not 'treating ' anything. We used to pour a gallon of bleach into our well when I was little. No idea what the ratio was, but it smelled bleachy for a long time.
