Hatching and light

So I rand across something interesting while watching for little ones hatching. It seems that they respond to the amount of light in the incubator. For example, my first little one hatched in the afternoon, when the most amount of light would have been on the incubator, and then I did not get any more actually breaking out until this morning, the kicker is that I had turned the overhead light on for them right before I left for work. Does anyone know if the presence of light encourages chicks to hatch? This is something that I think I will have to test out with a couple of batches of birds to see if there is a correlation between the amount of light in the incubator and the length of time it takes them to emerge. (This is just for the lockdown period, I will incubate them under the same settings, and then adjust the light just for the lockdown period.)

Thoughts?
