My question is since I have large breed chickens will they ever be big enough where the Hawks will no longer try to mess with them or will they only be allowed supervised visits outside the coop/run for life?

Quote: And I wouldn't shoot a sea eagle either. They are spectacular looking birds. And not that common. Reindeer keepers used to hunt eagles, because they take down the younglings, until a new approach was taken. For every nesting eagle they find, they are assumed to loose a certain amount of reindeer. This calculated amount is slightly higher than what they would actually take. They are monetarily compensated according to that, and this has lead to the reindeer keepers protecting the eagles, since it's worth their while.
