Yesterday morning my hen was attacked by a hawk. By the time we got to her all we found was a pile of feathers and blood. The hawk came back and sat watching us. Today our hen came back and although she is eating and drinking fine, we noticed she has a huge hole in her left side under her wing, is limping on her left leg and her left eye is droopy. I’ve separated her from the flock and have given her fruits and water with electrolytes in it. I have spray for wounds on chickens but because of the size of the hole I am afraid to spray it. I feel like I can see her organs, not bloody or a laceration. Anything else I can do to help her?
