I am going to guess a flying predator is grabbing the baby birds and flying off. The adult birds are probably harassing the predator until the baby gets dropped.

I have read the whole thread 457 posts and 46 pages .. While I live in Aus; subscribing/lurking for my own educational purposes. It does not hurt to be prepared and some of the biosecurity methods mentioned are helpful for all; not just those in AI areas.

How many states have now put a ban on birds coming in from out of state? I just heard Ky. Is this effecting the hatcheries for shipping chicks to these state that have a ban active?

For a necropsy you want to refrigerate the chicken, not freeze it.

It's a wild bird, but same deal, just refrigeration. Although I read somewhere that freezing is ok lately, because of the backlog.
