Heat Lamp used over HovaBator

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using a heat lamp to turn on when hand turning eggs in a hovabator and use it to bring the temp up more quickly? Would there be harm in this. Mine has 2 windows and I wonder if the direct light on the eggs would be harmful or as long as the temp inside the bator is correct/not too high it would be ok?

That's not neccesary to do. A hen gets off to eat, drink and poo everyday until the very end so a small amount of cooling doesn't do the eggs any harm. In fact, a lot of people think it's beneficial to them.
