Howdy, again. I live on northern Iowa were it gets pretty cold so I have had a heat lamp in all winter. And I have had some trouble with this prior to this particular incident but it has happened 5 or 6 times now and I need answers. My heat lamp bulbs seem to keep breaking. And I don't mean the glass but the glass just falls off of the metal part at random. This is really concerning for me as I will be getting new chicks and if a heat lamp bulb falls I don't want it to hit any of the new chickies. Please if you have any info on why this might be happening send your thoughts my way. Thanks!
P.S. Here are some pictures of the heat lamp and bulb

so the same lamp with different bulbs? get a new lamp if so. otherwise I have no clue. I never but heat lamps in my coop in Illinois but of course I use them for my brooder which is usually a glass fish tank.

I would guess, that you might want to check the quality and the source of the heat lamps. The reason it might happen - could be non reliable glass quality of the lamp or the lamp is overheating significantly - maybe it is too close to the floor, or not intended for the volage of your power source - check the specs of the lamp (voltage) fits your outlet.
