I have 12 chicks - Buckeyes and Dorkings. Say, Dorkings can FLY! And they are Quick!
I also have 10 Silver Appleyard ducklings and two "fill-in ducklings" that I am trying to identify. They are only 5 weeks old at this point, so as the feathers finish coming in, I'll have a chance to see what I have.
My husband saw a Brabanter here in Louisa County, Virginia, and immediately wanted one. It is a gold spangled hen with a cute top-knot. I did not know how hard it would be to find Brabanters, so we are making do with the 24 birds we are raising right now. But am still looking to find a breeder source.
I am also hoping to raise some Midget White turkeys in the future. Perhaps a goose or three. And peafowl, and.... whoa! not all this year!
