Joining from north central Florida. We have one lonely rooster here after the rest of the flock was killed. I'm finishing up nesting boxes, and then we will pick up some girls for him to watch over.

Sorry to hear you lost the rest of flock and that you now have a lonely rooster I know just how it feels and it is very sad. If you lost your flock to a predator could you beef up security for them? I lost mine to a fox attack after thinking I was secure and I wasnt. I made lots of changes to security after this most horrible experience.

There were two attacks. First one we believe was a coyote. Second was a neighbor's dog. :-( The chickens were not planned for and we took them on spur of the moment to save then from being released in the wild.
