Hello from Homestead FL

Hi everyone! I'm new here and new to chickens. At the moment I have one RIR because I ony bought a pair and the other one didn't make it, will be getting another in the morning to keep her company. Hoping to get a few more chicks this week or next, from another local feed store.

I'm married with 2 kids, Abigail who's 11, and Jacob who's 9. We live in Homestead, FL which is a small city, used to be a farm community before 1991 when hurricane Andrew wiped it out.

I'm a RN and work in labor and delivery. Been a nurse for a few years now and I love that it gives me a lot to be at home.

I'm glad I found this site (I think from doing a google search), hooked already.

Welcome, I use to live in both Homestead and Naranja. My husband was stationed there almost 25 years ago. He was actually out of a Naval substation in Coconut Grove but we lived close to the AFB.

Must be nice having chickens in a warm climate. Enjoy your new hobby.
