Hello from Texas!

Hi from College Station, Texas- I'm about 8 months into being a chicken mom and am absolutely loving it. We started our chicken ranching by purchasing a "ready-made" young flock whose owners lost their place at which the chickens lived. I had originally told my husband I'd start with 3-4 hens but we dove in and purchased all 12 (1 rooster plus 11 hens). We've enjoyed them so much that I decided to expand the flock by trying my hand at raising babies. Of the 15 day old chicks I purchased 14 have grown into 15 week old pullets! We love our chicken TV and I find the time I spend caring for & cleaning up after them both rewarding and relaxing

I'm wishing I'd done this years ago!
I've already learned so much from reading the forums here at BYC and look forward to expanding that!
