Hello everyone. I live on a farm with my husband, son and my in-laws next door. We have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 3 horses, a couple hundred cattle and my birds. I am semi-new to birds. When I moved in with my husband a few years ago there were about 7 chickens and 1 rooster. Since then they have died off(old). Last year I got about 25 birds from Big R. Four turkeys and the rest chickens. I only have one turkey left who is my pet and "prrs" for me when I come to pet her, the others were murdered by my chickens. I bought some roosters for meat and have made some good chicken and dumplings. Some of my chickens have died I believe due to sickness and I have 12 chickens left and 4 roosters who will be butchered soon
. Just ordered 2 buff geese, 2 fawn runner ducks and 2 cayuga (Tthe pictures I have seen on this site have inspired me). Hopefully soon I can post some pictures of the coop and get to know everyone.
