Thank you for the add, I am new to rasing chickens, I currently have a flock of 9 Cornish Rock crosses raising for meat, and 10 Red Star's I am raising for eggs. I am excited to learn as much as I can on the site!

Good Morning Nate,

Welcome to BYC. My flock consists of seramas and silkies; while we do eat the eggs the birds are more pets than anything. Frustratingly tame at times; it takes longer and longer to take care of them what with one getting on my shoulder, two on my feet, and the rest crowded around. I constantly have to look down as they refuse to get out of the way even after having their toes stepped on.

Nice to meet you Nate, Welcome to Backyard chickens. I also like to recommend the "Raising Backyard Chickens," forum. A quickie to finding topics on BYC is the search box. You can put "meat birds," and search will bring up information without links etc. That's all good because I don't know how to post links.

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!
