Hello, I live on the coast of Oregon and have 50 plus chickens at the moment. I love raising chickens and have a wide variety from silkies, frizzles, naked necks, olive eggers, Americauna, Polish, Black Lavendar Opington, Legbar, Barnevelder, Maran, True blue whiing, Egyptian fayoumi, Brahma, Silver spangled hamburg, cochin, speckled sussix, silver laced wyandotte, welsummer, silver pencil rock, favorrell & novagens. LOL...there may be some I've forgotten. Don't tell them! I have several areas...one for the bigger girls, one for the frizzles & silkies. A separate area for broody mommas hatching and raising chicks. And even a 'retirement cabin and spa run for older hens who are no longer laying. I have had roosters in the past but gave my last one to a young man recently. I suspect one of the oliver eggers I hatched may be a roo.
I live on 2 acres surrounded by 630,000 acres of national forrest. Besides chickens I have my wonderful hubby who is always willing to add on or make changes to the what I refer to as the 'chicken fortress'. We also have 3 cats and 2 great pyreness/kanjal mix dogs. So life here keeps me quite busy!
Looking forward to learning more from all of you!
