I have wanted my own chickens for SO LONG. After years of constantly moving and being largely transient, I've finally settled down and got some chickens. I have 4 unsexed Black Copper Marans, and this week picking up 2 Caramel Queens, 1 Rhode Island red, and 1 Barred Rock (all sexed). They currently live in the guest room since it's been an exceptionally cold April.

I'm anxiously waiting for the BCMs to show their sex, but I know it will be a couple weeks yet. Hoping at least one is a female. Excited to start this journey!

The coop and run aren't done yet, but it's likely another couple of weeks before it's warm enough anyway. I'm in the upper Columbia Valley in BC.
