Hi all I am new to the site and fairly new to having chickens. We started this spring with 10 chicks and just recently lost 4 due to an unwanted predator getting into our coop. We are looking to increase our flock to 12-15 and wanted to do this with started pullets and a rooster. Looking for any suggestions as far as websites to order started birds or if anyone is looking to get rid of some. I am located in WV. Thanks

You may want to check out the coops and predator threads to see how to beef up security, to keep predators out. Once they are successful they keep coming back .

Thank you all for the input! After the incident I did beef up security "sealed up some small holes". Pretty sure the preditor was a weasel. Also we had previously been letting the birds out to the run and coop both all night. Now I am just closing up the coop for the night and opening to the run during the day. Thanks for all your help and I'll check out the suggested sites!
