Help ID these chickens for a friend please.

Have a friend here who at first thought he had RC RIR. Then he got to looking at the
combs and told me they were pea comb looking to him and not rose comb. He got these
from two different breeders and they are about 11 months old.

Pretty sure those are Buckeyes. I have two friends that raise them. I'll send them a link to this thread.

Hmm, not quite right for either, I am thinking. The comb isn't a good rose or pea comb. I guess I would lean toward the Buckeye too.

Just throwing this out there, but the birds look to be a mix. The pea comb is overly large which to me, says that a single-combed bird was bred in somewhere up the road. Probably mixed with a Rhode Island Red (single comb) and Buckeye.

Somebody probably didn't know what they had and bred the two brown/red birds that they had together thinking they were the same breed.

I second that. The birds are either mixed, or of poor quality. That comb is pretty messed up... Though, I would lean more toward buckeyes if I had to choose one.
